Local volunteer and UFA friend passes; Survivors Fund created

With great sadness we learned of the passing of Naveed Zafar on September 29. Naveed worked at Khan Baba and was active our community, feeding members of the local mosque every year during Ramadan and helping with Urban Food Alliance food distributions. He was both well respected and loved.

Naveed supported his family of 10 in Pakistan, including his elderly parents and a special-needs brother. Because the family will struggle after losing this main source of income, UFA and Khan Baba have decided to honor Naveed's memory by collecting monetary donations to support those who depended on him. Our goal is to collect enough to create a fund from which monthly payments can be made so that the support is sustainable long term.
